Mobile Phone Service Providers
March 28th, 2008 |Yesterday I finally got my new phone, a Nokia N95 8GB, and I’m pretty happy with it’s functions, the look & feel and, after all, the plain fact that I eventually got a phone with all buttons working again. With the N95 there come some online-functionalities as well, like connecting to the web via any WLAN or your provider’s data plan.
I got curious and started the browser – interesting results, what do you think? and then had the idea to have a look at those service provider’s websites. Now it’s a time where optimizing websites for the web itself is tricky enough and I truly and deeply understand why people wouldn’t optimize their private blog or portfolio page for mobile devices. But, so I thought, for a mobile phone service provider it would be obsolete and the most natural thing to provide a good version for their customers’ phones. Not really though. Only one managed to pass the test, namely T-Mobile.
